do pool fencing laws apply to those blue inflatable above ground pools? | |
Answers:
1A small child can drown in two inches of water, although a wading pool is not considered a swimming pool and are usually emptied after each use. The inflatibles being sold now can easily be 30" deep and are not usually emptied each day after being used. Therefore they fit the definition of a swimming pool.
In either case, I wouldn't want to share the grief of a child, or anyone else, drowning in my pool ... not to mention the inevitable lawsuit. I would take the precaution of fencing the pool off.
Good luck with your pool.

I agree with the above answer! Better safe than very sorry. However, your city government or even perhaps another pool owner in your area may have the "Legal" answer. These guidelines vary from State to State. For instance if you were in Florida any pool containing water for extended periods of time must be enclosed inside a "Safety Enclosure" with Locked and Self Latching gates. Residential or Commercial.
